Overview
This 2 year programme is meticulously crafted to cultivate the trainee’s clinical confidence, promote safe and ethical practice, and enhance their capacity to discern, prioritise, and organise psychotherapeutic interventions. Emphasis is placed on both identifying and creating evidence-based practices. The trainee’s clinical advancement and acquisition of skills will be carefully monitored through a combination of formative and summative assessments, as well as the development of a detailed case study and portfolio.
Upon successful completion of the Diploma, trainees will have undergone comprehensive training in various approaches to psychosexual and couple’s therapy. The Diploma also provides trainees with the opportunity to become a Registered Member of COSRT on both the Psychosexual and the Relationship Register.
The Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapies will be block delivered as one week per term. This will amount to 6 weeks of delivery over 2 years (210hrs). There will be an additional 40 hours of teaching focusing on extended learning in specialist areas and supervision, these days will run online over 13 Wednesday evening webinars, which culminates in 250 Guided Learning Hours. Alternative offer under review: 10 weekends per year over 2 years culminating in 260 guided learning hours.

The total training fee is £7,800 including VAT for the full two-year programme. A non-refundable deposit of £600 is payable on acceptance of a place. The balance is then paid in 24 equal monthly payments of £300.
There will be additional personal costs toward supervision and personal therapy. Although ThIRST will endeavour to offset the cost of supervision with proceeds from the low-cost therapy clinic.
Much of the pre-and essential reading is provided but there will be a requirement to purchase core texts. ThIRST has its own developing library, trainees are welcome to access books onsite but unfortunately trainees cannot remove resources from the premises.
The course includes the requirement for:
Supervised Clinical Placements.
Reflective Activities including personal therapy.
Therapy and supervision sessions which must be with a COSRT Accredited practitioner to be valid.
